Charactics:
- Compared with free radical initiators such as peroxides and azo compounds, DMDPB has advantages such as high stability, safe use, good environmental performance, and strong antioxidant capacity.
- Used as a flame retardant synergist, DMDPB can reduce the dosage of flame retardant,while increasing the physical and mechanical properties of plastics, such as strength and toughness. This is of great significance for improving the overall performance of plastic products.
- As a synthetic flame retardant, its synthesis process is relatively simple and environmentally friendly, with high product purity and minimal environmental pollution. Application:
DMDPB can be used as a non peroxide high-energy plastic initiator, grafting agent, and flame retardant synergist.
When used for flame retardancy of polyolefins, it can synergistically improve the flame retardancy of polyolefin plastics in bromine antimony based flame retardants and halogen-free flame retardants. In the halogen antimony flame retardant system,
DMDPB can reduce the dosage of halogen flame retardants and antimony trioxide, reduce costs and increase efficiency, improve the physical and mechanical properties of polymers, and have smoke suppression and toxicity reduction effects.
Dosage:
The following dosage could be a referance:
1. Add 1.6% iodobenzene and 0.2% Sb2O3 to PP, and then add 0.2% DMDPB as a synergist. The oxygen index of the product is 25.5; If not added, the oxygen index is 19.5.
2. Adding 0.3% to 0.5% of organic bromide and 0.3% DMDPB to polystyrene results in a flame extinction time of less than 3 seconds for the formed product; If not added, the product will burn completely. The above is only suggested data, and the actual dosage should be tested according to the material and flame retardant requirements.
