Feature:
Hopeflam HP1204 is an environmentally friendly halogen-free flame retardant based on phosphorus and nitrogen. It is insoluble in water and organic solvents such as acetone, methylene chloride, methyl ethyl ketone, and toluene. White powder, with good fluidity, high phosphorus content, good thermal stability, and high flame retardant efficiency. The polymer added with HP1204 produces an expanded carbon layer during the combustion process to achieve the effect of heat insulation, oxygen isolation, and prevent the surface flame from further spreading. It does not hydrolyze or precipitate. It has good carbon formation and self-extinguishing properties. It is suitable for thermoplastics and thermosets plastic.
Application:
HP1204 can be used for TPE/PE cables, PET, PBT, PA6, PA66, having excellent flame retardant properties, it can be used together with melamine urate or used alone, the dosage is 15%, which can reach UL94V- Class 0 (0.8mm). For SEBS, dosage should be 25-35%. LOI is 32%, thermal decomposition temperature is greater than 350°C (TGA thermal weight loss 1%), no dripping during combustion.
Processing technic:
For high temperature nylon, the dosage is about 10% (wt), which can reach UL 94 V-0 (1.6 and 0.8 mm thickness). Due to differences in polymers, processing conditions, and the amount of glass fiber added, the dosage may vary. The polymerneeds to be pre-dried before adding HP1204. If possible, the moisture content of high temperature nylon should be less than 0.1% (by weight), PBT should be less than 0.05% (by weight), and PET should be less than 0.005%. There is no need to pre-dry the HP1204. However, if the system requires very low moisture content, it is recommended to pre-dry (for example, bake at 120°C for 4 hours). Commonly used mixing and processing methods of powder can be used for ADPHP1204, and the best feeding method should be determined according to the specific situation. It must be ensured that all components are uniformly dispersed, and the temperature of the polymer melt cannot exceed 350°C.
